Jokes apart.Batteries have never been good on smartphones.Mobile phone technology has changed drastically over the last decade but no significant change has been seen in the battery technology.Phone back in 2000-2003 were powered by Lithium Ion battery and even today phones run on the same technology.

There have been inventions in the charging technology but nothing significant has come up.

 So basically our phones run on a lithium ion batteries which are memory batteries.Memory batteries are those which count the charge and discharge cycles.So they have a fixed number of cycles.Once the limit is reached the battery is exhausted.

Temperature plays an important role in determining the battery life.More is the temperature more will be the degradation and less will be the battery life. 

Overcharging is another important factor which influences the battery life.A lithum ion battery has a inbuilt mechanism which takes care of overcharging.

Discharging the phone completely is equally important as charging a phone.So do drain out the battery once in a while.

Chargers Use only those chargers which the company provides you with the phone.Every battery has its own input an output voltage level.Disturbing them might damage the battery.
