PROXY:Staying safe on the Internet

Internet is one of the best man-made things.It has brought people closer,provided platform for people to discuss new ideas.

But in recent years,internet has become a major threat to users privacy.Cyber attacks on users privacy are on a rise.So you need to be really cautious while surfing the internet.

One way of staying safe is using PROXY.

WHAT IS PROXY?

When you are trying to access any website, your computer sends request to the server which hosts that website.If the request is accepted the server allows you to acees the website.

So when you send a request the server gets your IP address (Public IP,the one provided by your ISP).Using that IP anyone can find your geographical location, ISP, Postal Code and much more.

When you access websites using proxy, you first get connected with the proxy server and all your requests are send through that server.So the website doesn't get your real public IP.It gets the proxy server's IP.So you remain anonymus.

ISP AND PROXY

Proxy only hides your true identity from the web.Your ISP can still track you down and look into your activities (which may be illegal).So no,you dont become completely anonymus.

HOW TO USE PROXY

Using proxy is really easy.

If you are using google chrome then there are many extensions avaliable on the chrome store.

I am currently using Zenmate.It's really simple and easy to use.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox then i would suggest 2 extensions:

Proxy Switcher

Using these extensions you aren't fully secure but atleast it provides some security.If you want to be really secure and anonymus then you have services like HideMyAss.Its really secure and one of the best services avaliable out there.
