Recently the Yota phone was released.One thing unique about the phone was a 4.3 inch E-paper display.

So whats an E-paper?

According to google E-paper stands for electronic paper or a radio paper.

So what is so unique about it?
Lets dive in!


1.PORTABLE

An e-paper can be easily rolled into small tubes.Imagine yourself downloading a book on an e-paper and then rolling it up and then reading it on your way to your office.
That's amazing right?


2.GO GREEN

An epaper can be used millions of times.So it will help to save green cover and also there will be a significant fall in the production of green house gasses.


3.INEXPENSIVE

Though the technology may look advanced but the price will be really low.


4.LOW ENERGY

An epaper display is a black and white display hence power required for powering it up is really low.Just for instance,One full charge may last for one month or so!!


5.VISIBILITY

The biggest disadvantage of a LCD display is its visibility in sunlight.The panel is self lit hence its visibility in sunlight is really poor.Whereas an epaper reflects the ambient light in order to become readable.It tries to mimic the look of a traditional paper.
